A seasoned veteran in the music industry, Mel's passion for bringing people together through the power of music led to the inception of the iconic Spring Fling event in 1994.

Growing up in Mobile, Mel developed a deep appreciation for Southern Soul and the vibrant cultural tapestry of his hometown. His early exposure to diverse musical influences fostered a dream of creating an event that would celebrate this rich heritage while uniting the community. With determination and a commitment to excellence, Mel brought Spring Fling to life, transforming it into the premier annual music festival that it is today.

Over three decades, Spring Fling has grown under Mel's leadership from a local gathering to a nationally recognized event, attracting music enthusiasts from across the United States. Each year, Mel ensures that the festival remains true to its roots by featuring top-tier Southern Soul artists, offering unforgettable experiences to attendees, and contributing to the cultural enrichment of Mobile.
